The distinctive volcanic soil of of the island of Santorini, in combination with the arid environment, the sea breeze and the hot Cycladic sun, proved to be the perfect elements, for growing cherry tomatoes. This cherry tomato variety has a hard skin and grows on a bush. Its cultivation is done manually, since the ground is such, that it does not allow for the use of agricultural machinery. The end result is a sweet and slightly sour fruit with the taste and aroma, of times gone by.
